Ongoing Project
Chongon School in Guayaquil, Ecuador
While in Guayaquil, Ecuador, discovering and cultivating natural remedies indigenous to the area, foundation founder, Gary Young, noticed the poor condition of Guayaquil’s elementary school. Forty-two students in first- through sixth-grade were crammed into one tiny room, forced to share limited supplies and sit at broken tables while their volunteer teacher gave lessons on a damaged chalkboard. The DGYF has completed the construction of Chongon school and now have 119 students. The school continues to grow and become a place to educate Ecuador’s future leaders.
Project update:
In order to provide for the basic needs of the children being served, a new wing needs to be added by April 2012. The estimated cost is $100,000 in order to build the building, finish the grounds, purchase supplies and hire staff. Won’t you join us to help expand this life-changing project?
